Rye Beach New Hampshire Wedding // R+R
I knew I had to be Rachel & Ryan’s wedding photographer right from the first email – it went something like… “Did I just find my photographer soulmate? I think so!!” I was hooked and determine to do whatever to be able to work with someone with that kind of energy. However, the more I got to know Rachel the more I realized that amazing energy she radiated in that initial email is an everyday occurrence. Whether it is planning an entire wedding flawlessly, getting her kids ready for school, or her determination to have the most steps walked in a work challenge – Rachel puts her whole heart into everything she does and with a huge smile on her face none the less!
So it was no surprise that she was marrying an equally awesome force of nature named Ryan. I asked her what drew her to Ryan and she said, “The best part about Ryan is under the surface. He is kind, he is loyal, he is fiercely protective of everything that he loves. He is FUNNY… lord Alex, this man is hilarious. His humor is so infectious; when we go out every friend hangs on his every word because every sentence out of his mouth is funnier and wittier than the last. At the same time that everyone is so immediately drawn to him; he is incredibly humble and naturally introverted. He is the hardest worker in the room and is more dedicated to any cause than anyone I’ve ever seen.
Perhaps the most amazing thing about him is his character… the things that no one else sees. In an empty room, Ryan has the same unquestionable integrity than when the room is full. He doesn’t sway his ideals or change his opinions for anyone, and he will stand up for what is right. His moral compass points north, and he is a GOOD, good man. When he was younger, the times he got in trouble most were when he was standing up for others and protecting those who couldn’t protect themselves. He looks out for others always more than himself, and always puts himself last. For someone who looks like such a muscly, tattooed hard-ass on the outside, he is incredibly sensitive and sweet on the inside.”
When Rachel and Ryan met, there was flames everywhere – mostly because he was volunteer firefighter and she was an EMT and they were on the scene of this CRAZY, raging house fire but we digress. They had never met before because they worked at different Stations but funny enough Rachel had friend’s at Ryan’s station but they still never crossed paths until literally everything was up in flames. Around the same time of the fire, Rachel introduced her bestie and maid of honor Laura to her friend from Station 11 (The same station Ryan just happened to work at), Joe. They ended up having a storybook falling in love story, and got married three years later. In turn, Laura set Rachel up with Joe’s friend, who turned out to be Ryan. Later on in their relationship Ryan told Rachel he still remembers the exact thing that she was wearing, up to her messy high ponytail.
Rachel and Ryan – Thank you so much for letting me be apart of your day and trusting me to capture your fairytale romance 🙂
