Hardy Farm – Fall Maine Wedding
Brett and Sarah met while working together at Boston’s Children’s Hospital. A few years later he proposed during a weekend get away to the White Mountains – he even went the extra mile and hand painted a matryoshka doll (Ukrainian nesting doll) and had the ring inside!
There wedding this past October was filled with rustic elements and their center pieces of whisky jars filled with Wildflowers surrounded by small candles were the perfect place settings for this New England Wedding. Sarah chose a deep burgundy color for her bridesmaids dresses and the guys looked absolutely dapper in navy suits with burgundy ties. The weather wasn’t cooperating with us and for most of the day it was rainy but Sarah & Brett braved the elements and we were able to go out side to light some smoke bombs and get some beautiful foliage in their portraits. We even took the umbrellas out for some of their wedding party photos 🙂
I asked them what their vision was for a perfect day and she said “Pizza, Beer, and to be surrounded by my closest friends and family. We want it to be laid back and just enjoy the day.” And they did just that – they had an amazing pizza company come in and make hundreds of pies for their guests. They also opted to have donuts instead of cake from one of their favorite shops in Somerville – Union Square Donuts (yum!). During the reception – Sarah’s dancer friends surprised her by putting on traditional Ukraine outfits and doing a special dance and Brett even learned a few moves to surprise his new wife.
Sarah & Brett – I can’t thank you enough for trusting me to capture your day! I wish you guys all the best <3
