If you told me that a wedding was going to have Game of Thrones vibes, with Dinosaurs, loads of green floral, and all in a back yard in Maine AND it was going to be DIY- I would not even know what to picture. However, somehow Chris & Dani pulled this off and it all ties together. Let me start off my telling you how unbelievably amazing and bad ass Dani is – she designed and made her own wedding dresses. I cant even sew a button on a shirt and this rad bride designed and made not one but TWO epic dresses. The first dress was a sweet heart ballgown with beautiful beading on the sleeves and she made an attachable sheep skin fur coat to which gave off so many Game of Throne’s vibes and was absolutely perfect for a fall wedding in Maine. Once she put on the cathedral length veil, she legit looked like the queen of the north. I absolutely loved all the small details she put into her wedding day but my favorite had to be surprising Chris by incorporating and hiding dinosaurs in the reception and ceremony area. I absolutely loved the ceremony area, it took place about 5 miles down the road in the house where Chris grew up in. They made a gorgeous arbor and walked down the aisle to The Postal Service’s song “Such Great Heights”. The foliage was at its peak which made for a gorgeous back drop. Once back in tent, Dani changed into her second dress: a simple satin strapless dress that she paired with a white leather jacket. 7 months later, and I am still not sure which I loved more. Chris & Dani: thank you so much for trusting me to capture your day!
