Flag Hill Winery New Hampshire Wedding // R+J
Being able to photograph someone’s wedding day is an honor that so many people have granted to me. I am literally with my couples for hours upon hours on one of the most important and intimate days of their lives which is why getting to know my couples is really important to me. I couldn’t show up to a wedding day and not know anything about my couples, their family, or their interests. Every couple’s story is unique and finding out how they got together is one of my favorite questions to ask them. Joey & Rebecca’s story is no exception – Rebecca’s mom and Joey worked together and she told Joey he should ask her daughter out on a date. After showing him a few photo’s of her daughter, Joey sent her a message and fast forward a few years later – Joey asked Rebecca to spend forever with him at Nubble Light house in Maine surrounded by their friends and family. Secondly, love asking my couple’s what their common interests are so we can tie some of them into their wedding day photos to create some images that really capture their personalities. Before their wedding day, Rebecca had told me her and Joey were huge Star Wars fans and asked if I could make a photoshop image of them in a Star Wars setting to give to Joey for Christmas (super sweet!) I told her I have no idea how to use photoshop but if she brought the light sabers – I would make an epic image happen.
Rebecca & Joey decided to have a first look before their ceremony which is always one of the most anticipated moments of any wedding day. Their first look was one of the most emotional first looks I have ever been able to witness. You could feel Joey’s love and adoration for Rebecca the moment he turned and tears streamed down his cheeks when he saw his bride for the first time and was simply blown away by her beauty. All throughout the day if Rebecca asked for a glass of water or anything, Joey was so attentive and if anyone paused him while he was on a mission to get Rebecca something he would tell whomever stopped him that he would be back to chat after he got his wife whatever she needed. Can we say #husbandgoals much?
Lastly, I want to give a huge shout out to the coordinators at Flag Hill Winery – they were amazing to work with and made the day go off without a hitch. Literally if I needed extra five minutes with Rebecca & Joey or was looking for a bridal party member, they ran around helping me out and just went above and beyond the call.
