I was never supposed to photograph Erin & Tom’s wedding. In fact, I had never spoken to them prior to meeting them on their wedding day and was hired just hours before their wedding day! This is definitely not the norm, but unfortunately their original wedding photographer was involved in a bad car accident just a day before their wedding. Their wedding planner, Joe, contacted me and asked if I was able to step in – to which I quickly said yes and was happy to help any way I could!
When I got to the venue, it was just before my start time so I had a chance to walk around and look for potential spots to take picture and let me tell you this venue is beautiful! I love the cozy cabin feel and that everything happens there and your guests get to stay right on the property! Migis is right on Lake Sebago in Maine so waterfront views almost everywhere you look!
I loved that Erin chose such a stunning and timeless satin dress and her veil had pearl details all throughout! She had her bridesmaids wear black and chose a jewel toned pink bouquet for them and kept to a classic white for herself. Unfortunately, Erins mom is sick and we weren’t able to do getting ready photos with her so we decided to do a special first look for her parents in a wheelchair accessible space and recreated her mom buttoning up her dress.
We then headed to the ceremony which was lake front and the groomsmen got to ride into the ceremony on a boat! So cool! After vows were exchanged, Erin & Tom hopped on a boat and got a cruise around the lake before we finished up wedding party photos and couples portraits. I then let them enjoy some of cocktail hour while I went inside and photographed their reception details! I loved that she had greenery and flowers covering the space and lots of little tea lights hanging from the ceiling.
Erin & Tom – I am so grateful for you both for welcoming me with open arms even under the worst circumstances! Your wedding day was beautiful and I was honored to document it!
