I love Boston weddings! I mean, technically the Museum of Science is in Cambridge but you get my point! This is one of my favorite venues because of ALL the possibilities to make unique images! There are so many different rooms and exhibits PLUS there is a stunning view of downtown Boston right out side the museum which is located on the Charles River!
Liz and Eamonn chose the Museum of Science for their wedding because “We love science – it’s basically the closest thing for a church for us, We have also been on countless dates there and we could probably be tour guides!” We started their day with getting ready photos at the Kimpton Hotel just down the street from the venue. Liz chose to have a first look with her Dad there before heading to the venue – I always recommend doing first looks with as many family members as you want! Its such a special moment!
We then hopped in Ubers and headed to the venue where my second photographer April had already positioned Eamonn for his first look with Liz with the river as their backdrop! They also decided to get done all wedding party, family, and a majority of the couples portraits done after the first look so they could truly enjoy their cocktail hour. As you can see – we had a lot of fun creating portraits inside the museum!
They had their ceremony on one of the top floors of the museum which had a great view of the Boston skyline! Liz paid homage to her culture and made 1,000 origami cranes for good luck. Once they said exchanged vows and rings, we took a few big extended family photos & quickly sent Liz and Eamonn to enjoy their cocktail hour while me and April started setting up lights for their reception! One thing that was important to Liz and Eamonn when choosing a wedding photographer was to make sure they can handle the darkness of the inside of the museum to which I assured her that wouldn’t be a problem!
They chose greens and blues for their colors and added in pops of lego flowers to their centerpieces to make them a little extra unique! I truly loved having a second shooter for this wedding because we were able to go one different floors for their dances and we could give Liz and Eamonn two different prospectives on their day! After their parent dances and speeches, we went to the rooftop of the garage hoping for some golden hour light! We didn’t get any but we still got some portraits of the skyline which I consider a win!
